Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Narinder Batra is going to meet Commonwealth Games Federation head Louise Martin in New Delhi on November 14. The IOA chief will discuss matters regarding the exclusion of shooting from the 2022 Commonwealth Games which will be played in Birmingham.

After shooting was excluded from the 2022 Commonwealth Games, the IOA had threatened to boycott the games after which the CGF replied back saying that it is too late for the inclusion of the sport in the calendar. However, later, the chief of the Federation Louise Martin, on September 16, wrote a letter to Narinder Batra to hold a meeting.

Now, as per a PTI report, the IOA president has said that November will be the best possible time for that but Martin has still not replied to it. The CGF president will also be joined by CGF chief executive David Grevemberg. On the other hand, IOA Secretary General Rajeev Mehta will accompany Batra during the meet. Martin might also meet India’s sports minister Kiren Rijiju.

Earlier in July, Martin had written a letter to Batra in which she mentioned her three purposes of coming to India. However, the meeting regarding the exclusion of shooting from the 2022 Games was not clearly noted there.
