Indian challenge ends at Hong Kong squash open
India’s challenge at the Hong Kong Open 2015 ended on Thursday, after Saurav Ghosal, Dipika Pallikal and Joshna Chinappa bowed out in the second round of the tournament. Saurav Ghosal, who was scheduled to take on World No. 2 Mohammed Elshorbagy in the second round, withdrew after suffering an injury on his right foot.
After defeating Stephen Coppinger from South Africa 3-2 in a hard-fought five-setter on Tuesday, an injury on the right foot ended Sourav Ghosal’s run in the tournament. The World No. 18 announced his decision to withdraw from the tournament through Twitter.
Sad to have to withdraw from my match with Mohamed Shorbagy later today, with possibly a fatigue fracture in my right foot :( just so sad!!!

— Mohamed Elshorbagy (@MoElshorbagy) December 3, 2015In the women’s section, Indian hopes were pinned on World No.13 Joshna Chinappa and World No. 16 Dipika Pallikal. Both players, however, suffered a second round exit on Thursday.
Joshna lost a tight contest 2-3 against 15 ranked Joelle King of New Zealand. The Indian lost the match 9-11, 11-8, 9-11, 12-10, 11-6 in 64 minutes.
The other Indian in the fray, Dipika Pallikal, suffered a 1-3 defeat against World No.4 Camille Serme of France to bow out of the tournament. The Indian had a good start to the match winning the first game 11-7.However, her higher-ranked French opponent showed her prowess by winning the next three games 11-8, 11-3, 11-8 to finish off the match in 45 minutes.
