It is day nine at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and Indian table tennis stars will be playing their quarters and semis matches today. The action starts with women's doubles with Manika Batra and Diya Chitale taking on Oumehani Hosenally/Nandashwaree Jalim; there is a lot of singles action too.

UPDATE - So the Indian campaign in women's doubles has ended. The pair of Sreeja and Reeth has also lost. Poor campaign for the Indian women in TT continues.

UPDATE - Diya and Manika are still alive in the contest as they pocket the third game 13-11. IN the fourth also they are giving a tough fight at 6-4.

UPDATE- Indian pair looks in a hurry here. They have lost the second game too 6-11.

UPDATE - The Indian pair is showing a bit of fight in the second game. The Welsh side still leads 4-3.

UPDATE - Not a great start by the Indian pair as they lose the first game 7-11. Manika will have to compose herself. These have been poor Games for her.

UPDATE - So it is time for another big India match. Diya Chitale/Manika Batra are in the quarters of women's doubles and take on Carey/Hursey of Wales. The latter lead 5-4 in first game

Sathiyan claims both points on his serve to take the lead. Can he keep it now?

SATHIYAN 1 - 1 WALKER (3 - 1)

Sathiyan pushes Walker back with some crushing forehands. The Englishman tries to counter and hits it long. He does force an error on the Sathiyan forehand on the next point

UPDATE - Things are not looking well for Sanil Shetty who finds himself down 1-3 in his encounter against Liam Pitchford. He is down 3-9 in the fifth as well.

SATHIYAN 8 - 11 WALKER (3 - 0)

WALKER HAS A GAME BACK!!! His forehand had a little too much behind it this time.

SATHIYAN 8 - 10 WALKER (3 - 0)

SATHIYAN SAVES ONE!! WALKER HAS THE SERVES THOUGH!

SATHIYAN 7 - 10 WALKER (3 - 0)

GAME POINTS WALKER!!

SATHIYAN 7 - 9 WALKER (3 - 0)

THREE IN A ROW FOR THE INDIAN!!! JUST ONE POINT BETWEEN THEM!! He misses his forehand. STILL A TWO POINT GAME!

SATHIYAN 6 - 8 WALKER (3 - 0)

Errors on the backhand by Walker reduces the lead to just two points now.

SATHIYAN 4 - 8 WALKER (3 - 0)

Sathiyan has one more back but hits his backhand into the net. Still four points between them

SATHIYAN 3 - 7 WALKER (3 - 0)

Sathiyan needed that one. Walker would have run away with it otherwise.

SATHIYAN 2 - 6 WALKER (3 - 0)

The Englishman has definitely upped his game here. And the net helps him out to extend the lead to four points.

SATHIYAN 2 - 4 WALKER (3 - 0)

Sathiyan has the first point back off his backhand but the Englishman responds with one his own to stay ahead in the game.

SATHIYAN 1 - 3 WALKER (3 - 0)

Sathiyan has one back but a forehand into the net means that Walker has his lead intact.

SATHIYAN 0 - 2 WALKER (3 - 0)

Walker starts with two points at the start of the game. Both of Sathiyan's serve.

UPDATE - In the other game right now, Shetty finds himself a game down now after Pitchford took the third game 11-8. The Indian though currently leads 4-2 in the fourth.

SATHIYAN 11 - 5 WALKER (2 - 0)

AND THAT IS GAME!!! SATHIYAN IS ONE GAME AWAY FROM A PLACE IN THE SEMIS!

SATHIYAN 9 - 5 WALKER (2 - 0)

Failure to return Sathiyan's serve means that Walker won't be able to reduce the deficit even though he takes the next one.

SATHIYAN 8 - 4 WALKER (2 - 0)

Walker fights back with a point but a down the line forehand is too much for him to return.

SATHIYAN 7 - 3 WALKER (2 - 0)

Both share points on Sathiyan's serve to keep the four point advantage for the Indian going.

SATHIYAN 6 - 2 WALKER (2 - 0)

Walker has a point back but Sathiyan is having none of it. Still a four point game.

SATHIYAN 5 - 1 WALKER (2 - 0)

Walker misses another forehand as Sathiyan takes complete control of this game.

SATHIYAN 4 - 1 WALKER (2 - 0)

Sathiyan has started well in the third as well. Walker is in trouble and his corner call timeout.

SATHIYAN 0 - 0 WALKER (2 - 0)

GAME THREE!! HERE WE GO!

UPDATE - Sathiyan has taken his second game against Walker as well but Shetty has lost to Pitchford and the scores are level in that one.
