Sania Mirza's farewell event, the Dubai Tennis Championships 2023, began on Tuesday, but there was no happy ending in store for her. She along with her women's doubles partner Madison Keys, lost 6-4, 6-0 Veronika Kudermetova and Liudmila Samsonova in the opening round of the championship.

India’s run in the men’s singles of the Dubai Tennis Championship was all but over as 24-year-old Ramkumar Ramanathan lost to Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets. India, however, still have the men’s doubles of Purav Raja and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan to play in the round of 16.

Leander Paes and American Jamie Cerretani have made it through to the semi-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships after beating fourth seeds Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus 2-6, 6-4, [10-7]. They will now face Damir Dzumhur and Filip Krajinovic in the semi-final of the ATP 250 event.
