INDIA

Rohit Sharma-7/10

Started off slow but caught fire in no time, Rohit played on his home track like a caged tiger let free. Badree’s straighter one asked too much off him though.

Ajinkya Rahane-5/10

40 runs off 35 balls? On that Wankhede pitch? Sorry, but if anyone is to be blamed for the below-200 score, it’s Rahane. Not upto the mark.

Virat Kohli-9.5/10

Man with the golden bat turned into the man with the golden arm, as he ended the 97-run third wicket partnership with his first delivery, pulling India back into the game. His 89 off 47 balls had earlier put India to a mammoth 193. Too bad it had to end that way in the last over.

MS Dhoni-7/10

Faced 9 balls and scored 15, but what his decision to bowl Kohli to get rid off Charles was a brilliant gamble. Too bad it didn’t work in the last over. Brownie points to Dhoni nevertheless.

Suresh Raina-N/A

Hardik Pandya-2/10

Four overs for 43 runs. Not enough when the team is defending less than 10 runs an over. Add to that the horror of producing a wicket on a no-ball. Fielding wise he was up there, like always.

Manish Pandey-N/A

Ravindra Jadeja-2/10

12 runs per over on a dew-laden night in Mumbai. Have to feel for the spinners.

Ravichandran Ashwin- 2/10

Unnecessary overthrows, no-balls, conceding runs for fun. Safe to say Ashwin had a forgettable evening, pretty much like his entire tournament. Fact that Dhoni didn’t trust him for more than two overs should tell it’s own tale.

Jasprit Bumrah- 6/10

Getting the prized wicket of Gayle with his first delivery gave India the ideal start. Too bad he got smacked in the death and wasn’t at his sharpshooter best in the final overs.

Ashish Nehra- 7/10

Pick of the Indian bowlers, Nehra did what others could not, bowl dot balls. 13 of them in his four overs.

WEST INDIES

Chris Gayle-1/10

Getting out to the same bowler twice, especially when the team desperately needed a good start, Gayle showed how hot-cold he can be. One century in the first match has been followed by two single digit scores.

Johnson Charles-7/10

A half-century to set the tone for the rest of the innings, Charles played beautifully and took the Indian spinners to the boundary at will.

Marlon Samuels-1/10

Threw his wicket away to put pressure on the middle order, not a memorable outing for arguably the most reliable Windies batsman.

Lendl Simmons-9/10

The Mumbai Indians batsman took the bowlers to the sword at his homeground. Match winning knock.

Dwayne Bravo-3/10

Bowling at the death is an art Dwayne Bravo has mastered, but not when Virat Kohli is on song.

Andre Russell- 9/10

Picked up the wicket of the settled Rahane, played a match winning knock and hit the match winning six. Complete all round performance.

Darren Sammy-N/A

Dinesh Ramdin-N/A

Craig Braithwate-3/10

Four overs for 38 runs. An average performance from the man.

Sulaiman Benn-4/10

Nine runs per over would be terrible in any other match but not here. Kohli and even Rahane scored boundaries off him. Could’ve bowled in the middle overs.

Samuel Badree-9/10

The most economical bowler in T20Is showed why he is so highly rated. One for 26 in his 4 overs when the team conceded 193 runs.
