Sachin Tendulkar issued a cautious warning to India ahead of their challenging tie against defending champions Australia on Sunday at the Kennington Oval. Tendulkar added that Australia are determined to do well but backed Virat Kohli-led India to emerge victorious on the day.

Sachin Tendulkar is a well-revered figure in Australia due to his impressive track record with the Indian team during his playing days. The Indian master blaster had an average 44.59 from 71 matches against the Aussies with a total tally of 3077 runs in the One-day format. Tendulkar, now 46, issued a warning to the Indian cricket team who are gearing up to face-off against the defending champions on Sunday at the Kennington Oval.

“All the confidence you have gained from this game (vs South Africa), pack that in your kit back and get to your next game. Australians are going to be a tough team to handle because of the combination and confidence they have at the moment,” Sachin told India Today.

The former India captain further added that the likes of Steve Smith and David Warner will be motivated to well against the Indians but backed Virat Kohli & Co. to give them tough competition on the weekend.

“They are a different side (after Smith and Warner’s return). Whatever I saw of David Warner in the IPL, he looked extremely fit and above all he looked determined and motivated to go out there and get runs.

Sachin, however, was confident of India doing well in the match. “…But I feel Team India have the ammunition to go out and do what is required. The Australian attack is a good attack but Indian team is geared to play that attack. We have done well in the past against that bowling attack. Guys will be ready to face them,” Tendulkar added.
