Sai Praneeth registered a straight games 21-18, 21-13 win against China’s Long Chen in the semi-final of the ongoing Swiss Open to book a spot in the final on Sunday. Meanwhile, Lakshya Sen bowed out of the China Masters with a 21-9, 12-21, 21-17 loss to Chinese shuttler - Weng Hongyang.

Ace Indian shuttler, B Sai Praneeth, booked a slot in the final of the ongoing BWF Swiss Open tournament after he registered a resounding 21-18, 21-13 win in the semi-final against reigning Olympic Champion Long Chen on Saturday. Chen, ranked fifth in the world, was brushed away by Praneeth with comfortable ease in a match that lasted just 46 minutes. The Indian will now have to take on another Chinaman in the form of top-seed Shi Yuqi in the final of the tournament which is slated be held today.

Meanwhile, Indian teenager and reigning Asian champion Lakshya Sen bowed out of the BWF China Masters with a disappointing loss against China’s Weng Hongyang. Lakshya, who is considered as the next big thing in Indian men's badminton, fought hard for one hour and two minutes before eventually losing the match by a margin of 9-21, 21-12, 17-21 against Hongyang. Hongyang will play compatriot Liu Haichao in the final on Sunday.
