Overnight centurion Shikhar Dhawan hit 150 as India A took a commanding 183-run first innings lead on the second day of their three-day game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The hosts then grabbed two quick wickets to leave Bangladesh A struggling at 36 for two in their second essay at stumps on a rain hit day.

Resuming at 161 for 1, India A declared at a dominating 411-5 with left-handed opener Dhawan adding 34 runs to his overnight score of 116 before falling lbw to left-arm spinner Saqlain Sajib. Karun Nair (71) and Vijay Shankar (86) slammed half-centuries against a spin-dominated attack after both the Bangladesh A pacers suffered injuries and bowled only six overs between them.

Later, the hosts sent back the Bangladesh openers in the 11 overs that were possible in fading light.
