Sourav Ganguly has distanced himself from India's coaching job, insisting that currently he is not in a position to take up that role, if offered to him, due to his responsibilities at the Cricket Association of Bengal. The Southpaw has also raised questions about the Cricket Advisory Committee's existence.

When asked about the possibility of him coaching the national team, Ganguly said, "I really don't know as I have got another job to do at the moment. I am actually running the cricket (as CAB president). You can't do both at the same time. You have to see where life goes. At the present moment, 'No' (to coaching) as I am an administrator with responsibilities of running the game”.

In an interview with NDTV, the former Indian captain was also asked whether he will make his move to be the next BCCI president. The 43-year-old refused to rule out that possibility in the future, however, he insisted that presently he is only focusing on the job at hand.

"I really don't know. I have just started a career and I don't where it will go and where it will finish. I don't rule out anything in life nor do I look too far forward either. I live for the day and the moment. I am trying to do the job I have at present to the best of my abilities and let's see what happens," he added.

Earlier last year, the BCCI formed the Cricket Advisory Committee, which constituted of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. However, Ganguly has raised questions about the existence of this committee, claiming that the need for this group needs to be debated in the future.

"To be honest, I don't know whether that committee exists at all. I think team is doing well and may be we will have to think about it in future,” Ganguly told NDTV.
