The Sportsweek that was - Kohli Sizzles as Sania Fizzles!
India locked horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup, SanTina finally succumbed to a loss and there were some gleaming moments of sportsmanship in Cricket by Virat Kohli and then there was not so much of the same over in the Turkish league. The 2nd edition of ‘The Sportsweek that was’ has a wide range of moments to savour as a sports fan.
Wow Moment of the week
Nothing beats the aura around India versus Pakistan. Let’s put that nothing in capitals and make it NOTHING because frankly the entire nation was screaming their lungs out on Saturday. But the match was pretty one-sided with India dominating the enounter barring a supreme spell of fast bowling by a certain Mohammad Amir of Pakistan.
So, bragging rights to India and it will stay that way until the next time the two sides square off in the World T20 next month.

Disappointing moment of the week
Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis finally lost after an incredible run of 41 consecutive wins as they fell short against Sania's former partner Elena Vesnina along with her Russian teammate Daria Kasatkina at the Qatar Open. Now, though they missed the ‘Open Era’ record, contrary to widely-celebrated reports *cough* by ZeeNews and NDTV *cough*, SanTina did NOT miss the world record for the most consecutive wins by just 4 games.
The record for the longest undefeated streak in women's doubles is held by the legendary pair of Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver. The duo won 109 matches in a row, in what has remained an unrivalled period of dominance, over a period of two years between 1983-85.
So that's how the cookie crumbled .. Just kidding :. Hehe .. We'll be back ,stronger than before #SanTina #4⃣1⃣✔️ Martina Hingis #number

The Sportsmanship moment of the Week
On this day, Virat Kohli’s words for Mohammad Amir in the post-match interview might be the only event greater than his 'Man of the Match' performance against Pakistan. The Indian Test captain was full of praise for the Pakistani pacer and said that it was a pleasure to face that incredible opening spell by Amir. He went on to wish Amir more success and also stated that he even congratulated him during the match for his heroics.

Bizarre moment of the week
Moving from sportsmanship to an incredibly bizarre incident in football,Salih Dursun of Trabzonspor in the Turkish League got sent off after he showed the referee the red card that had accidentally fallen off the referee's hands. Such is the fine line between beng silly versus suicidal. Showing the red card when things are light-hearted = Funny. Ha-ha! Doing it when the referee is in the mood to send everyone in his sight off, not such a good idea!
Hilarious Moment of the week
Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has provided some very interesting moments in press conferences during his reign at Old Trafford, but the Dutchman might just have outdone himself and has won our ‘Hilarious Moment of the week’ award during his side’s match against Arsenal. Clearly, Van Gaal was not impressed with some of the Arsenal players and he probably concluded that the fourth official was unable to understand his accent, so he took it to actions explaining his feelings. Regardless of which club you support it was undoubtedly one of the best moments of the English season.
