In a candid interview, Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Sana Mir revealed that Virat Kohli was the dressing room favourite. The 30-year old Pakistan skipper went on to add how Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was her personal favourite for his contribution in building the side.

Talking ahead of the World T20, Sana Mir shed some light on the popularity of Indian players in the Pakistan women’s camp. "There are couple of names. If I just talk about my players, I think Virat Kohli is the favourite cricketer,” shared Mir. But who is Mir’s personal favourite? “Personally, Dhoni is my favourite player. He has handled himself well on and off the field. He has transformed a team of juniors into an effective unit," said the captain, reported PTI.

Sana Mir is about to hang her boots after the World T20 and her contribution to the growth of Pakistan cricket cannot be overstated. "We have come a long way. It (cricket) is considered as a medium for women's empowerment in Pakistan,” beamed the Pakistan skipper. Elaborating further she continued, “Now girls want to take up cricket. This team has done a lot to change the perception. There were times it was difficult for women's cricket in Pakistan but now parents come up and tell me that they want their daughters to play cricket," Sana said.

Having led the side since 2009, it’s difficult to imagine a Pakistan women’s team not led my Sana Mir. But Sana is confident that the right replacement will be found without much difficulty. "Always there will be somebody. “We have been grooming my successor for the past three or four years. Captaining Pakistan was an honour. I think this is the right time for the next captain to take over as we are two years away from the next World T20 and Asian Games. This would be the best time for the new captain to come in and settle down," assured the Abbottabad-born player.
