There is no one in the world who would question Kieron Pollard's powerful hitting - not even Sanjay Manjrekar. Rohit Sharma felt the full brunt of Pollard's power when one of the West Indian's meaty blows hit him on his thigh and the Mumbai Indians captain went down like a sack of potatoes.

Kieron Pollard started from where he had left off in the last match, taking responsibility when his team needed him the most leading the chase for his side against Gujarat Lions. The West Indian came in to bat when the asking rate for the home side was over 10 runs per over and left leaving Mumbai needing just 17 off 11 balls.

On the 2nd delivery of the 17the over, Andrew Tye bowled a fuller length delivery outside off to the West Indian. Pollard was spewing fire with his bat and hit the delivery with full force. The shot, however, was too straight and the ball, in Ravi Shastri's words, travelled like a tracer bullet towards Rohit Sharma who was at the non-striker's end. The Mumbai captain tried to dodge the ball but failed to do so and the ball hit him on his inner left thigh. Sharma went straight to ground immediately but made sure that he made his crease before asking for a physio.

Rohit Sharma was back up on his feet after the physio had a look at him but the 29-year-old made sure he was well out of Pollard's hitting rage as he took a wide staring position on the non striker's end for the remaineder of the game.
