India asserted their authority over Sri Lanka in the first Test as after scoring 600 runs in the first innings, they left Sri Lanka reeling at 154/5 at stumps. Earlier, Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami tore the Lankan bowling apart as they put on a 62-run stand that helped the visitors reach 600.

Brief scores: India 600 (Shikhar Dhawan 190, Cheteshwar Pujara 153, Ajinkya Rahane 57, Hardik Pandya 50; Nuwan Pradeep 6-132, Lahiru Kumara 3-131) lead Sri Lanka 154/6 (Upul Tharanga 64; Angelo Mathews 54*; Mohammed Shami 2/30) by 446 runs.

Here are the best tweets from Day 2 of the First Test.

And Pujara started the day off by getting to his 6th 150. What have we done to deserve you? _/\_

Oh we're sure he'll definitely succeed against England and South Africa too..

And then Rahane fell, trying to do this.. :|

A Frustrated Indian..

But Pandya responded in style

Pandya certainly made sure that this didn't happen :D

Amen.

Can the Lower Order and Top Order switch positions in the next innings please?

An impressive display from the SL pacers... Or maybe not.

Expectation vs Reality

The review was so bad that even the 3rd Umpire trolled SL for it

Looks like Abhinav Mukund came to SL just to do this

Joke of the year
