Ranji Trophy | Elite B Day 3: Two matches affected by rain and bad light; Punjab-Andhra move towards tame draw
The games between Himachal Pradesh and Bengal and Kerala and Hyderabad were partially affected by the rains and also by bad light conditions at some venues. The encounter between TN and MP was the worst affected as the day’s play was called off without even a single delivery being bowled.
Andhra vs Punjab:
Brief Scores: Punjab 414/10 lead Andhra 327/5 (Ricky Bhui 150*, Srikar Bharat 76; Mayank Markande 3/96) by 87 runs
This was the only game in the Group-B today not to be affected by rains. Starting from their overnight score of 54/3, Andhra batsmen played a solid game in the middle to make 327 runs at the end of the day’s play. Though still trailing by 87 runs, they lost only two wickets in the whole day with Ricky Bhui remaining not out for 150 runs. Apart from Bhui, Srikar Bharat (76) and Bodapati Sumanth(54) contributed handsomely for Andhra with the bat. With only one day remaining in the match, the match looks headed for a draw.
Bengal vs Himachal:

Kerala vs Hyderabad:
Brief Scores: Kerala 495/6 declared lead Hyderabad 30/1 by 465 runs
Only twenty overs of play was possible on the third day of the match between Kerala and Hyderabad. The rain started causing troubles at the start of the day itself and the game got delayed. Then fifteen overs were bowled in which Hyderabad lost the wicket of Akshath Reddy and made 26 runs. Before the day’s play was called off, Hyderabad batted for five more overs adding five runs to their tally. Tanmay Agarwal and Rohit Rayudu were playing for Andhra making 24 and 3 runs respectively. Sandeep Warrier took the lone wicket that fell on the day for Kerala.
Tamil Nadu vs Madhya Pradesh:
Not even a single ball could be bowled in the match due to the rains. After regular inspections by the officials, the conditions were found not suitable for play and the day’s play was called off around four in the evening.
