Ranji Trophy | Elite-B: All the four matches in Group-B end as a draw

All the four matches in the Elite Group B of Ranji Trophy tournament has ended in draws. Tamil Nadu drew with Madhya Pradesh as the play ended when Tamil Nadu was batting at 236/4, match between Kerala and Hyderabad too ended in a draw as no further play was possible as the regulation time was over.

Tamil Nadu vs Madhya Pradesh:

Brief Scores: Madhya Pradesh 393/10 drew with Tamil Nadu 236/4(Baba Aparajith 103*; Avesh Khan 2/49).

The third day of the match was totally washed out, so the match resumed after a break of one day. Tamil Nadu started its innings on a steady note but they lost their first wicket for the score of 43 runs. One brought two wickets for Madhya Pradesh as soon the second wicket too went down for TamilNadu at the score of 51 runs. After two fifty run partnerships, the match ended with Tamil Nadu making 236 runs and losing only two wickets. Baba Indrajith was the highest scorer for Tamil Nadu and remained not out making 103. For Madhya Pradesh Avesh Khan came off good as he picked two wickets. Ankit Sharma and Mihir Hirwani also chipped in with a wicket each for Madhya Pradesh. Rajat Patidar was awarded the man of the match for his well made 196 runs.

Kerala vs Hyderabad:

Brief Scores: Kerala 495/6 declared drew with Hyderabad 228/5( B Sandeep 56*; Akshay Chandran 2/44) .

Starting with an overnight score of 30/1 Hyderabad batted well as they lost only four wickets in the whole day and scored 198 runs. Bavanaka Sandeep(56) and Kolla Sumanth(42) remained not out for Hyderabad at the end of the day. Apart from them Himalay Agarwal(48) and Rohit Rayudu (35) made some handy runs for the Hyderabad team. Akshay Chandran picked the wickets of Tanmay Agarwal and Telukupalli Ravi Teja to end up as the most wicket taker in the innings for Hyderabad. Man of the match was awarded to Vasudevan Arundhadi Jagadeesh for his first innings century.

Himachal pradesh vs Bengal:

Brief Scores: Bengal 380/10 & 203/3(Abhishek Kumar Raman 86; Prashant Chopra 2/56) drew with Himachal Pradesh 324. 

Starting at the overnight score of 302/9, Himachal Pradesh added 22 more runs before they were packed by the Bengal bowlers. Ishan Porel picked the final wicket of the Himachal Pradesh innings. Himachal in the process conceded a small lead of 56 runs to Bengal but it was of no use as the match anyway ended as a draw. Bengal openers batted well putting up 139 runs stand for the opening wicket. They lost another couple of wickets before the match ended when they were batting at 203/3. Prashant Chopra picked two wickets spending 56 runs. Player of the match was Aamir Gani for his allround performance in the match.

Andhra vs Punjab:

Brief Scores: Punjab 414/10 & 102/2 (Shubham Gill 54*)drew with Andhra 423/10

Andhra started their overnight score of 327/5 and one full session before getting out in the second for a score of 423 runs taking a slender lead of nine runs. Sumanth and Md Khan made half-centuries to push the score for Andhra. Whereas Mayank Markande added two more wickets to his kitty to finish with a fifer. Punjab started their secnd innings on a bad note losing their first wicket at the score of 14 runs. However, they lost only one wicket and ended the day at the score of 102 with Shubham Gill remaining not out on 54 runs. Ricky Bhui bagged the man of the match award for his 181 runs for Andhra.
