Ambati Rayudu has stated that he is pleased with the organization of the TNPL as it provides a prominent stage for upcoming cricketers to display their talent and make it to the big leagues. He further praised his former teammate Narayan Jagadeesan pegging him to become a regular for IPL outfit CSK.

Ambati Rayudu has for the first time participated in any capacity in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) and is positively shocked at how well the tournament is organized. Be it the management of the players, the beautiful stadiums or the smooth operations off the field, it is one of the best regional tournaments held across the length and breadth of the nation with eminent cricketers such as Ravichandran Ashwin taking part in it.

"I am actually very, very impressed by looking at the ground. I think it shows how good the tournament is. I can see a lot of young boys playing with cricketers like (Ravichandran) Ashwin," said the former India star,” Ambati Rayudu was quoted saying by Times Now, having witnessed from close quarters the Dindigul Dragons clash with the Kanchi Veerans on Monday at the NPR College Ground.

"When we were growing up, we never had a tournament like this. It is a fast-tracker (to national cricket) and this tournament helps a lot of youngsters from small towns and districts where people always dream about playing cricket at higher levels and I feel it can't get any better than this. I am very happy that TNPL has set the standards,” he added.

The 33-year-old recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket and will no longer be seen donning Chennai Super Kings; yellow in the Indian Premier League. However, his former teammate Narayan Jagadeesan has been making waves in the event, being the leading run getter with 361 from a mere six games. He is also the first player to have scored 1,000 runs in the competition and has the most runs to his name in the history of the competition. Last year, the 24-year old was bought by the Dhoni led IPL outfit in the auction.

"Over the years I have seen Jagadeesan play, he is doing well. He is part of CSK and I'm really liking the way he is coming into the zone. "I feel he is extremely talented and he is converting that talent into interesting performances. Hopefully, he will get into CSK (first eleven) and play a lot more cricket in Tamil Nadu," Rayudu said.

Rayudu ended the brief interview with some advice for the youngsters taking part in the league

"All I would say is, learn from the international cricketers. That will be a major takeaway for the youngsters because they know exactly how to play or this sport is supposed to be played. I am sure the young players are doing this. In this sport, every day you learn," he concluded.
