MS Dhoni is one of the finest thinkers in the game and the way he has handled pressure in crunch situations over the years has been phenomenal. The CSK captain is often hailed as one of the best in the game when it comes to keeping calm when the situation is tough during a game and many cricketers want to learn this quality from him.
South Africa’s Dwaine Pretorius, who played a few games for the Chennai Super Kings in his debut season praised MS Dhoni. He talked about how the IPL season taught him a lot of things and he also would like to be calm like the former Indian captain when handling difficult situations.
“Playing my first IPL was a great experience. It was one of my bucket list items and that too to get the opportunity to play for CSK, one of the most successful franchises. I enjoyed every moment of it. You get a lot of responsibility as a player," Dwaine Pretorius said while addressing a press conference ahead of the T20I match against India.
“I really enjoyed playing under Dhoni as well and batting with him, seeing the brand value he has in India just shows how big he is and what he has done for the sport in this country. It was awesome being a part of that," the 33-year-old said.
He further explained what his biggest learning was under the leadership of MS Dhoni during the IPL.
“The biggest thing that I have learnt from him is how calm he is at the crease, the way he takes the pressure off himself and tries to put it on to the bowler,'' he added.
