Maintaining composure is crucial, but moments of stubbornness can lead to unnecessary delays. This was evident in the showdown between England and Australia when Matthew Wade became agitated after umpire Nitin Menon dismissed his dead ball appeal, citing that Wade had touched and played the ball.

England faced a challenging start after winning the toss and electing to bowl first. Aussie openers David Warner and Travis Head set the stage on fire, propelling the scorecard to 55/0 within four overs. However, their dismissals during the powerplay provided England with a significant boost. Nonetheless, Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell formed a formidable partnership, adding 65 runs together, and guiding their team to 136/2 by the 13th over. The momentum swung again with the duo's departure in the middle overs, bringing Matthew Wade to the crease. Amidst this, Wade found himself embroiled in a dispute with the on-field umpire over a dead-ball appeal.

After being struck for a boundary on the second ball of the 17th over, Adil Rashid prepared to deliver the third ball. As the English all-rounder began his run-up and released the ball, Wade suddenly pulled out at the last second, seemingly unprepared to face the delivery. However, in the process of pulling out, Wade made contact with the ball, only to later protest as if he was not ready. Despite his plea for a dead-ball signal, umpire Nitin Menon denied Wade's appeal, indicating that he had indeed played the ball and thus it couldn't be considered a dead ball. This decision incited Wade's frustration, leading to a heated argument with Menon. After taking a single on the next ball, Wade continued his animated exchange with the umpire and engaged in banter with Adil Rashid as well.

The Twitterverse reacted swiftly to Wade's unnecessary theatrics, taking to social media to express their opinions on the matter.
