DC vs RR | Twitter reacts as fuming Ashwin reprimands Jaiswal after duo fumble crucial run-out
The emotions during an intense cooling battle can get overwhelming for even the coolest customers, a lesson Yashasvi Jaiswal learnt the hard way on Thursday. The youngster received a verbal lashing from Ravichandran Ashwin after his throw to the stumps was adjudged subpar by the veteran.
Delhi Capitals began their chase of 186 with great impetus in Jaipur as the opening duo of Mitchell Marsh and David Warner helped them race to 59/2 at the end of the powerplay. The latter remained unbeaten at the crease and continued his onslaught with two boundaries against Avesh Khan in the eighth over. However, just when the batter seemed set for a big score, clumsy communication between him and skipper Rishabh Pant afforded the Royals a golden opportunity only for the hosts to let it slip embarrassingly.
On the first ball of the ninth over, Pant danced down the track to attack Ashwin but only managed to push the Kookaburra towards short extra cover. The wicket-keeper batter sensed an opportunity to sneak a single and took a couple more steps forward, provoking Warner to come rushing out of his crease, before suddenly deciding against it to leave the Australian completely stranded. Yashasvi Jaiswal was quick to get to the ball and collected it cleanly but inexplicably rushed forward a couple of yards instead of immediately firing a throw towards the set-up Ashwin. When he did eventually release the white rock, it was via an overhead action instead of the simpler underhanded lob which seemed to catch Ashwin off-guard and the spinner ended up breaking the stumps with his hands while the ball ricocheted off it.
A visibly Ashwin wasted no time in hurling criticism towards the youngster, followed by sharp glances to skipper Sanju Samson while coming to terms with the enormity of the miss. Twitterati had a lot to say about the chaotic event.

It's normal!
Ashwin getting angry for his own fault on Jaiswal represents the normal workplace culture in India.

For a change!
For a change it was Ravichandran Ashwin’s mistake. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s throw was spot on, Ashwin had a lot of time to collect and break the stumps. Then showing senior’s attitude to Jaiswal. English commentators supporting Ashwin. #IPL2024 #RRvDC #DCvRR

Just can't!
Ashwin can't even collect the ball and shouting at Jaiswal.
