India C started the day poorly losing early wickets, but Baba Indrajith’s half-century helped them post 168 runs with a slim 4-run lead. In their second innings, India D faced setbacks with early wickets but recovered through strong performances from Shreyas Iyer and Devdutt Padikkal.

‌India C was off to a shaky start on Day 2 as overnight batter Abishek Porel was scalped by Harshit Rana on the second over of the day. The Delhi-bred’s pace magic was evident as he took another wicket and got rid of Manav Suthar. However, Hrithik Shokeen and Baba Indrajith kept the scorecard ticking, taking the team to 107/6 in 44 overs. But the quick dismissals of Shokeen and Vijaykumar Vyshak further increased their hope. Thereafter, Anshul Kamboj and the Tamil Nadu batter built a substantial stand and took India C closer to the lead with the scorecard at 157/8 in 60 overs. With Indrajith’s half ton and the continuous fall of wickets from the other end, India C was bundled out for 168 runs as Lunch was called.

Post Lunch, India D openers Yash Dubey and Atharva Taide walked into bat for the second innings. But their stand was cut short when Vyshak scalped Dubey in the second over. Thereafter, Taide followed suit and departed cheaply in the sixth over with a meagre score of 15 runs. However, it was the skipper Shreyas Iyer and Devdutt Padikkal who carried the India D batting further. Iyer looked in great touch as he scored a 39 ball half-century while Padikkal gave great support scoring 50 in 63 deliveries and taking India D to 92/2 in 15 overs. However, the 53 runs stand was broken by Anshul Kamboj which got Ricky Bhui to the crease. The duo took the scorecard to 140/3 in 24 overs at Tea with Padikkal leading from the front.

The Karnataka-MP duo fought hard as Padikall scored a 63-ball half-century as India D took the driver’s seat. But things went downhill for them a bit when Manav Suthar took the wicket of Padikkal and Srikar Bharat in quick succession with the India D scorecard at 186/5 in 41 overs. The left-arm orthodox bowler struck again and got the wicket of the well-set Bhui and Arshdeep turning the tide for India C. At Stumps, India D scorecard looked at 206/8 and led by 202 runs with Axar Patel and Harshit Rana at the crease.
