‌Patience is often considered the greatest of all virtues but as easy as it may sound. Mitchell Starc had a fair share of such an experience during the fourth day of play between Australia and India when rain interrupted the contest at the Gabbe for the umpteenth time across the  four days.

Resuming from the third day, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma failed to offer a steady start to the day as the skipper was outwitted by Rohit Sharma. However, the Karnataka batter’s fighting 84 coupled with Ravindra Jadeja’s half-century offered a glimmer of hope to avoid follow-on. With Nitish Reddy succeeding Rahul, Australia’s aim to bundle India was further delayed. However, Pat Cummins found the number against his SRH teammate during the 60th over, making inroads for the rest of the bowlers to clear the clutter.

Just when Mitchell Starc, renowned to clear the tail quickly, was handed the ball, the rain showed up interrupting Australia’s plans for the umpteenth time in the game. Following a second and third day that saw incessant showers, Starc was seen devastated as the on-field umpire gestures the players to leave the field due to the passing shower. The left-arm quick’s shoulders dropped and he was seen utterly frustrated, prompting empathy in the Twitterverse.
