Australia whitewash Scotland 3-0 in their first-ever bilateral series by winning the last game with six wickets in hand. Cameron Green’s three-fer coupled with medium pacers' disciplined bowling curbed Brandon McMullen's fifty before the former lit up Edinburg with a 39-ball 62  to chase down 150.

Brief Scores: SCO: 149/9 [ McMullen: 56, Munsey: 25; Green: 3/35] lost to AUS: 153/4 (16.1)  [ Green: 62*  Marsh: 31; Currie: 2/20] by six wickets.

Eyeing to induce a series whitewash at the Scottish shores, Australia’s ploy to field first after winning the toss paid dividends as Aaron Hardie drew the first blood in the third over. However, this did not dent the Scottish approach of adopting an aggressive route in the powerplay as George Munsey’s 17-ball 25 coupled with a few glorious strokes from Brandon McMullen, added up to a 54-run powerplay. Skipper Richie Berrington followed Munsey in quick time before Cameron Green and Sean Abbott added further inroads with Scotland struggling at 123/5 in 15 overs. While Mark Watt smoked a six and a four by the next eight balls, Marcus Stoinis got the better of McMullen, who notched up his consecutive fifty today. A wicket each fell in the successive overs to leave the hosts with 149/9 in 20 overs.

In reply, Jake Fraser-McGurk’s off-form continued as he departed for yet another duck in the series off Brad Currie. Travis Head scored a couple of fours in his eleven-ball stay before Currie struck once again in the fourth over, leaving Australia strangled at 18/2. Unbothered by the early dismissals, Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green took on the opposition bowlers to rack up a 45-run powerplay. The pair orchestrated 61 runs together before the former was chopped on with the introduction of Jack Jarvis with the ball. Australia’s score reflected 86/3 midway through the chase. Tim David and Green added 20 runs in the next two overs before a six and a four set up the latter’s brilliant half-century. David followed it up with a couple of fours in the 14th over before getting done by Chris Sole in the next over. With 19 required to win from 34 balls, Green and Aaron Hardie sealed the chase with 23 balls and six wickets in hand as Australia whitewash Scotland 3-0.
