Rasikh Salam Dar has now been the new star of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. A team which struggled with its third pace bowling option got their third bowler taking the most wickets in the game against Lucknow Super Giants. He was able to take 4 wickets in the game, as RCB won the match with ease. While his success is being noticed, his discovery story remains unheard.

Irfan Pathan told about the time when he noticed Rasikh Salam Dar. During the trials, Rasikh bowled two to three deliveries and he was told by Irfan to wait on the sides. He thought that this time also he had been rejected, and eventually went on to head back to his home with his brother. Noticing the same, Irfan Pathan stopped him and asked why he was heading back.

Irfan then told him that his talent will not take him to the junior team, as he is eligible for the senior team. Eventually in his initial practice matches, he was able to impress the selectors more, as he started off by taking a hat-trick.

Our Take

A few years after his selection in the Jammu and Kashmir team, he has now been a key bowler for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
