IND vs NZ | Twitter in splits as Mitchell breaks out into tantrums after lightning Phillips denies double
Every once in a while, a batter on the international stage enters a phase where he feels invincible and can do no wrong. Daryl Mitchell is enjoying one such run in ODI cricket, and ensured to keep fans entertained besides the bat too with an inexplicable dance routine borne of annoyance.

India pegged back New Zealand early in the decider ODI at Holkar Stadium in Indore with a new-ball wicket each from Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana. The latter returned soon after the powerplay ended to add Will Young to his tally courtesy a sharp catch from Ravindra Jadeja, and on a flat batting deck the Kiwis were left reeling at 58/3 in the 13th over. However, still at the crease was previous game's centurion Daryl Mitchell, boasting an average of 70-plus against India in ODI cricket, and the veteran once again took on the onus to take the Black Caps to the promised land as he stitched a stand with Glenn Phillips. And the performance was not without its shenanigans.
On the third ball of the 20th over, Phillips drove Nitish Kumar Reddy to mid-off and took off for a quick single, a call to which Mitchell obliged after brief hesitation. Rohit Sharma rushed to the Kookaburra and did well to sling a throw in that hit the stumps, albeit the rapid Phillips was well past the umpire by that point. However, as the white rock richocheted of the stumps and rolled into no-man's land, Mitchell began to run a double but he was a quarter of a way down when he realized Phillips had gone far too past to make the second a possibility. Frantic, Mitchell hopped and pranced with flailing arms beckong Phillips, before returning his crease and breaking into giggles.
Commentator Iain Smith could not believe the sights he was watching, akin to Twitterati.

George Bailey has had just one great series against India and that's about it.
Daryl Mitchel has been scoring runs for fun in all formats right from the time he made his international debut.
Against India Daryl…

Try it
Daryl Mitchell & Glenn Phillips will try to take down Nitish Kumar Reddy in his next spell, these two were happy to nudge & rotate strike in his first 5 overs.
