Manchester United are keen to sign Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen. The player has been reluctant to renew his contract at Spurs, which ends in 2020. Spurs fear that they might end up losing him on a free transfer and are looking to offload him this summer for a hefty transfer fee.

Tottenham star Christian Eriksen has already claimed that he will be looking for a new challenge next season. The Danish international has been linked with a move in the past to Old Trafford but nothing has materialized. However, the Daily Mail reports that the Red Devils are back in the race, as they target a new midfielder.

This move would also allow Tottenham to bring in Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP, having been linked with a move for the Portuguese star. For Manchester United on the other hand, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for Premier League proven stars, and Eriksen fits that bill.

La Liga giants Real Madrid have also been long term admirers of the 27-year-old, and the Dane has openly said that he would consider a move to the Bernabeu. But reports suggest that he is not the club’s first choice as Zinedine Zidane continues to prioritize a move for Paul Pogba.

Spanish news outlet the AS has added that the Los Blancos will move for Eriksen should they fail to sign Pogba. However, what does complicate that, is that Eriksen is ‘convinced’ by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s strategy to rebuild the club. Furthermore, the Norwegian’s strong relationship with Denmark’s Norwegian coach Age Hareide will also help as the Red Devils look to seal a move for the Spurs midfielder.
