Tottenham and Belgian side Club Brugge are in negotiations over a move for Victor Wanyama this summer, with the Kenyan now surplus to requirements. The 28-year-old joined Tottenham a little over three years ago but has struggled to nail down a permanent spot, thanks to a myriad of injuries.

After signing both Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso this summer, Tottenham are now overflowing with options in midfield. That combined with the fact that Club Brugge did sell both Marvelous Nakamba and Wesley to Aston Villa for a combined fee of £33 million, has seen the Belgian side consider a move for Victor Wanyama reports the Telegraph.

The 28-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a first-team choice since his move from Southampton a little over three years ago, but now his status has changed. The two new arrivals push the Kenyan further down the pecking order, and that will see the 28-year-old finish with less than the 22 appearances he did manage to make last season.

This has opened up a potential move to Club Brugge before the European transfer window does close, although it’s unclear whether it’s a short term move or a permanent one. Spurs signed the former Southampton man for £11 million, and are hoping that Brugge matches that either via a permanent move right now or a loan move with an option to buy.
