Commonwealth Wrestling Championship | India win 9 Gold, 7 Silver on Day 2

Indian wrestlers have continued to impress in the ongoing 2017 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship in Johannesburg as on the second day India won nine gold, seven silver, and four bronze medals. Earlier, on the first day, Indian wrestlers have won ten gold and as many silver medals.

A 60-member Indian wrestling team including Sushil Kumar reached South Africa to participate in the championship on Friday, where the team of Indian women wrestlers successfully managed to win medals in all ten weight categories. 

The players who won the gold medal included the name of Kiran in 72 kg, Divya Kakran in 68 kg category while Ritu Malik won gold in 65 kg weight category. Pooja and Ravita also joined the medal winner's list as they clinched silver in 76 kg and 59 kg respectively. Kavita won bronze in 76 kg, and Manu Tomar in 72 kg. 

On the opening day of the tournament, Indian men started their campaign brilliantly as they won ten gold and the same number of silver medals.

The freestyle wrestling bouts will be organized on Sunday in all 10 weight categories.
