Injured South Africa all-rounder JP Duminy will skip the two-day warm-up game against Board President’s XI starting at the Brabourne Stadium on Friday, and is also a doubtful starter for the opening Test against India in Mohali from November 5.

“He will not be playing in the game here. His chances of playing at Mohali are 50:50 at present,” South Africa media manager, Lerato Malekutu told reporters after the team’s practice on Thursday.

In-form Duminy had split the webbing on his right hand while going for a return catch in the third One-Day International, and missed the remaining two games. The tourists won the five-match series 3-2 for their first bilateral ODI series victory on Indian soil in five attempts.

The visitors will know how much the injury has healed on November 1.

Fast bowler Morne Morkel is recovering well, Malekutu said. Morkel suffered a leg injury in the same ODI in Rajkot and missed the remainder of the ODI series.

Meanwhile, Indian Test team members Cheteshwar Pujara and KL Rahul will look to get their eye in against the visiting attack ahead of the first Test when they take the field with the Board President's XI.
