Sachin Tendulkar to endorse ‘Skill India’ campaign
The Indian Government on Friday roped in Sachin Tendulkar as the brand ambassador for the ‘Skill India’ campaign. Speaking about his role, the master blaster said that the campaign was an opportunity for the nation to make full use of the youth in the country and to galvanise skills.
“Sachin is one of the greatest Indian stories of our times and someone who resonates the best with skills. He is a true global icon and brand that served the game of cricket through his skill sets and inspired generations,” Minister of State (Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) Rajiv Pratap Rudy said about Sachin Tendulkar’s association with the campaign in a media release.
The skill India campaign is an endeavour by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to attract industries, organisations and the other stakeholders in an attempt to bring value and respect to skills and a standardised ecosystem to meet human resource requirement. The campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help train 40 Crore people in India in different skills.
Speaking about his association with the campaign, Sachin talked about the relevance of skills and how people will be helped through the campaign.
