Anurag Thakur to represent the BCCI at the ICC events
Contrary to the previous reports that N Srinivasan might represent the BCCI at the ICC meetings, Anurag Thakur has been selected as the rep at the ICC. Additionally, the BCCI Special General Event will be held on 30th of September in Mumbai to discuss about the proposals of the Lodha Committee.
The BCCI has taken some important decisions in the 87th Annual Governing Meeting (AGM). After the meeting between Ajay Shirke and N Srinivasan on September 4th, one would expect that Srinivasan might represent the BCCI at the ICC and the ACC general body meetings. But however, the BCCI has selected its President Anurag Thakur to represent the Board at the ICC meetings.
It has also been decided that the special governing meeting (SGM) to discuss about the recommendations of Lodha committee will be held at the BCCI Mumbai headquarters on 30 September.
The Board has also given power to the Secretary and the President to select the new ombudsman for the year 2016-17 as the tenure of AP Shah has come to an end. Mr. Sharad Pawar, who was at the helm for a quiet long period of time, with the BCCI, has been given the charge of the alternate director of the ICC meetings.
The BCCI has appointed former Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad as the chief selector of the the junior team whereas Hemlata Kala will head the women's selection committee.
