Hanuma Vihari has stood out with the bat in the ongoing Irani Cup tie having earlier scored a brilliant 114 in the first innings. Vihari scored another 40 in the second innings as Rest of India finished day three at 102 /2 and lead Vidarbha by seven runs at stumps.

Earlier, Akshay Karnewar had put two-time Ranji Trophy champions Vidarbha in a strong position as he scored his maiden first-class hundred which had helped them take the lead on Thursday. Karnewar was eventually dismissed for 102 with Vidarbha getting bowled out for 425 in their first innings. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Krishnappa Gowtham and Ankit Rajpoot bagged two wickets each to support Chahar's four-wicket haul for the Ajinkya Rahane-led squad.

Aditya Sarwate and Aditya Wakhare struck early on to dismiss Rest of India openers Anmolpreet Singh and Mayank Agarwal. Vihari and skipper Rahane arrested the slide and put Rest of India ahead with a solid partnership. Vihari will resume his innings on 40 while Rahane will resume on 25 on the fourth day of the game.
