According to a report published in The New Indian Express, Jasprit Bumrah has been asked to take rest after he injured his left shoulder during the game against Delhi Capitals. The pacer will not travel with the team which means that he will miss the next two matches against RCB and KXIP.

After Bumrah picked up an injury during the Delhi Capitals’ innings while attempting to stop the ball in his follow through in the final over, there were some concerns for the Indian team which will travel for the World Cup right after the World Cup. Meanwhile, there is some positive news that there are no major concerns now and Mumbai’s physio Nitin Patel is monitoring the pacer’s injury at the moment.

“Bumrah is in Mumbai along with team physio Nitin Patel continuing with the assessment. His recovery is on track and fortunately no sign of stress,” Mumbai Indians said in a statement.

However, it is learnt by the newspaper that the pacer will not be a part of the team which will travel to Bengaluru and Mohali for their two upcoming games. The physio of the Indian team – Patrick Farhat also had a word with the Mumbai team management and their physio Patel regarding this issue and the report said that he is satisfied with Patel’s advice of Bumrah taking rest.

However, in another positive development for the Rohit Sharma-led side, they will have the services of Lasith Malinga. The Sri Lankan pacer will be a part of the squad from today but will return to Sri Lanka for the provincial tournament which means he will miss only a couple of matches in April, instead of previously touted five.
