Ben Dunk's bizarre dismissal overshadowed Paarl Rocks' victory as they fell short of the target set by the Bay Giants after putting the Rocks to bat first in the mouthwatering encounter. The Australian was caught deep in the crease, knocking the stumps off in the process but refused to walk off.

The most anticipated match of the Mzansi Super League took place as the invincible Giants took on the Paarl Rocks at Port Elizabeth. After putting to bat first, the Rocks got off to a decent start, with the openers scoring nearly 9 runs an over Tahir struck the early blow. In the run chase, Ben Dunk held an end as Giants’ batsmen fell like a pack of cards. Shamsi, a proven wicket-taker, bamboozled the middle order and left it too late for the Giants to salvage a victory.

Dunk feasted on the loose deliveries, slapping the ball to all parts of the ground. Alongside the tail-enders, Dunk took on the bowlers eventually getting dismissed in bizarre fashion. The Australian knocked Sri Lankan pacer Isuru Udana for a single down the ground, only for the umpires to hold the play off.

After the replay, it was clear that it was indeed Dunk who knocked the bail off as he took off for a single down long-on. The left-handed batsman was seen looking at the bails being brought down as he ran across for a single. It would have been awkward had the umpires not stopped the play and confirmed with the third-umpire. Nearly lucky to get away was Dunk, despite being heavily unlucky to get dismissed in such a manner.
