Fortune favors the brave, and the Windies were certainly riding on luck after surviving numerous runout chances against England in Gros Islet, St Lucia. One of the fielding botches included both Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer missing out on easy runout chances at the fag end of the first innings.

Winning the toss and electing to field first initially backfired for the Jos Buttler-led side as the West Indies top-order stockpiled 94 runs in eleven overs despite Brandon King retiring hurt due to a groin injury. Although the England side pegged back with wickets in the Windies' middle order, the hosts reached 180 runs in 20 overs with luck favoring them throughout the innings. Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer missing easy chances in the final over was one of its hallmarks.

On the fifth ball of the last over, Archer dished a short ball over the stumps that Romario Shepherd failed to connect with a pull. The non-striker left the crease swiftly for a bye and the striker risked it as well. However, Buttler made a meal out of an easy chance by failing to produce a direct hit and Archer, who received the rolling white rock, did a similar as the shy did not connect with the sticks for a second time. Archer was almost in the middle of the strip but failed to nail the direct hit, conceding a couple of byes. Seeing the underarm throws from close distant leak bonuses in favor of West Indies, the Twitterverse erupted.
