Chennai Super Kings beat Gujarat Titans by 63 runs in Chennai. Chasing a mammoth 207 runs put up by the hosts, the Gujarat Titans failed to capitalise on the flat surface and regular fall of wickets rendered them unable to put up partnerships which ultimately led to a 63-run loss.

‌The MA Chidambaram Stadium buzzed with excitement as the finalists from the previous year squared off once again. Gujarat Titans' captain, Shubman Gill, won the toss and elected to field. However, their strategy backfired as Chennai's opening pair, Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad, launched a blistering start, amassing 58/0 in just five overs. Ravindra exhibited exceptional form, boasting a striking rate of 230. Nevertheless, his onslaught was cut short by Rashid Khan in the fifth over. With Ajinkya Rahane joining Gaikwad at the crease, CSK continued their dominance, reaching 69/1 by the end of the powerplay. Rahane's innings was curtailed in the 11th over by Sai Kishore, who exploited a reckless shot resulting in a stumping. Meanwhile, Shivam Dube partnered Gaikwad to guide CSK to 126/2 after 12 overs. Regrettably, Gaikwad failed to convert his 46 runs off 36 deliveries into a half-century, departing in the 13th over. However, CSK's batting resurgence came through Dube and Daryl Mitchell, who forged a brisk 38-run partnership, propelling their side to 165/3 by the 16th over. Dube reached his fifty in just 22 deliveries, showcasing a remarkable strike rate of 221. Following Dube's dismissal, Sameer Rizvi joined forces with Mitchell as the hosts surged to a formidable total of 206/6.

The Gujarat Titans encountered a turbulent beginning as their prominent opener and captain, Shubman Gill, departed in the third over of the innings. Their woes continued as Wriddhiman Saha also fell in the fifth over. Despite this, Vijay Shankar and Sai Sudharshan managed to guide the Titans to 43/2 by the end of the powerplay. However, the atmosphere at the Chidambaram Stadium reached its peak excitement when MS Dhoni pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Shankar in the eighth over. To anchor the Titans' innings, David Miller and Sudharshan steadily pushed the score to 80/3 by the 10th over. Just as the pair seemed poised to forge a substantial partnership, Tushar Deshpande claimed Miller's wicket with a remarkable catch by Ajinkya Rahane stationed at deep mid-wicket.  Adding to the worry, Sudharshan struggled to time the ball with a meagre strike rate of 119, ultimately getting out in the 15th over. CSK’s defence mounted greater heights as the equation became 93 runs off the last five overs with Azmatullah Omarzai getting out the next over. Rashid Khan too departed to provide any fireworks and departed in the 17th. With a continuous fall of wickets and Rahul Tewatia failing to bring out the fireworks, the Gujarat Titans failed to chase the mammoth total and could only score 143/8 in 20 overs, losing the contest by 63 runs.
