IND vs NZ | Twitter erupts as Rohit’s pull shot falls prey to Henry’s deceptive short ball trap
Some players are known for their signature shots, but skilled bowlers can occasionally neutralize even the best. Matt Henry did just that to Rohit Sharma on the third day of the Test between India and New Zealand, delivering a well-directed short ball that outclassed Rohit’s attempt.
On the final ball of the third over, Henry bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off stump. Rohit attempted a pull shot, aiming to send it over square on the leg side. But the short ball took him by surprise, sending it high toward mid-wicket where Glenn Phillips took a straightforward catch as the ball swirled. Henry celebrated, signalling to his skipper Tom Latham that the short ball strategy worked perfectly. Twitter quickly reacted, praising Henry’s smart plan and critiquing Rohit’s misjudgment.

When two seniormost batsmen fall flat throughout the entire home season, a team is bound to lose. They are not the only two culprits but they are expected to lead from the front. #INDvNZ pic.twitter.com/i9ObCa6IWy
