Once a player's confidence grows, they can take their game to the next level, even engaging in playful banter with world-class bowlers. This was evident on the second day of the Border Gavaskar Trophy where Yashasvi Jaiswal cheekily mocked Mitchell Starc after the ball seemed to come slower.

‌Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul were in solid form as they began their innings with great intent, taking the score to 52/0 in 15 overs. The duo looked to attack the Aussie pacers, with the bounce and pace of the Perth pitch not troubling them as much. Rahul played his grounded shots, confidently executing crisp boundaries, while Jaiswal aimed for bigger shots, hitting both a four and a six. After the southpaw hammered Starc for both a four and a six in quick succession, there was a brief verbal exchange between the two, adding a touch of spice to the contest.

The exchange began in the 19th over when Yashasvi Jaiswal hit a daring six off Mitchell Starc towards backward square leg, leaving the Aussie bowler smiling. The pressure mounted on Starc when, on the third delivery, Jaiswal stepped across to off stump, connected well with a length ball around middle and leg, and slogged it over backward square leg, just short of the ropes. Starc then delivered a fuller ball outside off, which Jaiswal attempted to drive expansively, but the ball straightened and narrowly missed the edge. As Starc smiled while collecting the ball, Jaiswal cheekily remarked, “It’s coming too slow,” playfully mocking the pace of Starc's delivery. The banter caught the attention of Twitter with fans buzzing about the rivalry.
