Bravery often shines through when a batter pushes past their fears, showing grit and determination. Yashasvi Jaiswal exemplified this on the second day of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at Perth, taking on Pat Cummins’ bouncer with great intent and showing great authority off bouncers.

‌The Aussie side collapsed to just 104 runs, thanks to fiery spells from Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, and Mohammad Siraj. In reply, India’s batting looked much more assured compared to their first innings, with KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal opening cautiously, taking the score to 27/0 in 10 overs. As the pair gained confidence, they began to attack, reaching 52/0 in 15 overs, leading by 98 runs. Jaiswal, who had been struggling against bouncers, showed great composure in the 15th over when Pat Cummins bowled a sharp bouncer.

On the second ball of the over, Cummins delivered a short, rising ball aimed at Jaiswal's head, but the young batter had other ideas. With impeccable timing, Jaiswal executed a crisp upper cut, sending the ball flying towards the third man. Though Nathan Lyon sprinted to cut it off, he failed to stop the ball from reaching the boundary. Meanwhile, Cummins stood near Jaiswal for some time and regretted his decision to bowl the bouncer and had a smile as he walked back to bowl again. Jaiswal's fearless stroke earned him praise, with Twitter erupting in admiration for his skill and composure under pressure.
