Frustration is inevitable in cricket, often leading to fiery moments on the field. Such was the case on the second day of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at Perth when the steadfast opening stand by Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul pushed Mitchell Starc to lose his cool, culminating in a fiery LBW appeal.

‌Indian pacers bowled out Australia for 104 runs, securing a 46-run lead by lunch. Post-lunch, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased solid technique, starting cautiously at 27/0 in 10 overs before accelerating to 52/0 in 15 overs, extending the lead to 98 runs. Despite the Australian bowlers' efforts, the Indian openers dominated, scoring 84/0 in 26 overs and leading by 130 runs. The final session saw the duo continue their steady approach, reaching 101/0 in 38 overs with a commanding lead of 147 runs. Amidst India’s commanding opening stand, frustration brewed among the Australian players, particularly Mitchell Starc, who lost his cool with an animated appeal.

The tension began when the last ball of Starc’s 41st over edged off Yashasvi Jaiswal’s bat to first slip, where Usman Khawaja failed to make a diving effort, letting the chance slip. The situation escalated in the 43rd over when Starc bowled a fuller delivery aimed at the leg stump, striking Jaiswal’s pads. Starc appealed passionately, pointing at the umpire, but the decision was turned down. When Starc asked Jaiswal about the LBW, the batter calmly explained it was going down the leg. Skipper Pat Cummins chose not to review, and a visibly frustrated Starc walked back, sparking discussions among fans on Twitter about the Aussies' mounting tension.
