‌Some people are born with god-gifted traits that help them gain an upper hand over the competitors in any particular realm. Without a doubt, Kyle Jamieson’s six-foot-eight height has been advantageous for the New Zealand cricket team but he failed to capitalise on it when it mattered on Monday.

Playing the first match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Mitchell Santner, the New Zealand captain decided to field first. Despite a stable start the Asian nation collapsed against Michael Bracewell’s four-for before lower order resilince from Jaker Ali and Najmul Hossain Shanto’s 77 propelled Bangladesh past the 200-run mark. However, as the Kiwis sought for wickets during the final powerplay of the innings, Jamieson spilled a chance to earn his first ODI scalp on return for New Zealand.

On the fifth ball of the 48th over, Jamieson dished a back of a length delivery outside the woods that Taskin Ahmed tried to hack down the ground. However, the left-hander incurred a top-edge with the ball ballooning just behind the bowler who tried to reach out for it. Although it was in Jamieson's reach, he failed to come in good position and back peddle quick, leading to a dropped dolly, sparking chuckles across New Zealand’s best fielder Glenn Phillips, and sending the Twitterverse abuzz.
