Australia beat India by six wickets and clinched the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3-1. The hosts delivered a brilliant bowling performance, led by Scott Boland’s 10-wicket haul, which dismantled India’s batting while Prasidh Krishna impressed with the ball, and Rishabh Pant showcased his batting prowess.

‌Australian pacers extended their dominance from the previous day, quickly removing overnight batters Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. Despite a brief respite when Jasprit Bumrah returned to bat after his injury scare, India's lower order failed to put up much resistance, and they were bowled out for 157 runs. With a target of 162, Australian openers Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja started aggressively, reaching 35/0 in just three overs. However, India fought back as Prasidh Krishna claimed three key wickets, dismissing Konstas, Marnus Labuschagne, and Steve Smith. By lunch, Australia was 71/3 in 13 overs.

After the break, Khawaja and Travis Head kept the momentum going, building a 46-run stand and pushing the total to 104/3 with 58 runs still required. However, Mohammed Siraj struck, removing Khawaja and giving India a crucial breakthrough. Despite this, Travis Head and Beau Webster guided Australia closer to victory with a 40-run partnership, taking the score to 144/4, leaving just 18 runs to win. Webster eventually hit the winning boundary, sealing a six-wicket victory for the hosts. With this win, Australia not only secured the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but also qualified for the World Test Championship final, where they will face South Africa to defend their title.
