Well begun is half done, and Chinelle Henry reminded us of that mantra during the game against UP Warriorz. The Delhi Capitals pacer trapped Meg Lanning right in front of the stumps, in a must-win game in Vadodara, to subject the UPW skipper to her first-ever duck in the history of WPL.

‌Chinelle Henry was quick to validate her skipper Jemimah Rodrigues’ decision to bowl against UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League in Vadodara on Sunday. The Delhi Capitals’ pacer was right on the money after being handed the new ball ahead of veteran Marizanne Kapp at Kotambi Stadium.

She bowled full and straight first up to get the prized scalp of opener Meg Lanning to give her side a shot in the arm in a must-win game. With the UP Warriorz skipper playing for the outswinger, the ball straightened a touch after pitching on a good length around middle stump to beat her willow before crashing into her pad.

The umpire had no hesitation whatsoever as he immediately raised his finger to give Henry a dream start. The West Indies all-rounder was all charged up as she pumped her fist in jubilation as captain Jemimah came sprinting towards her.

Meanwhile, Lanning after a brief chat with partner Deepti decided not to take the review as replays showed it would have been an umpire’s call anyway. Twitter was thrilled as Henry condemned the former Australian skipper to her first duck in the history of the WPL amid loud cheers from the fans.
