Big Update on Hardik Pandya Ahead of RCB Match

Anupam Pandey

Mumbai Indians played without their captain Hardik Pandya in the previous match. While they came out victorious, it has been a concern whether Pandya will be playing in the next game or not. According to reports, he has not travelled with the team to Raipur for the match against RCB.

Hardik Pandya has added more to the injury woes of Mumbai Indians. The team was already facing issues this season in grabbing wins, but they finally regained momentum against Lucknow Super Giants. Right before the home game, Hardik Pandya was declared unfit and Suryakumar Yadav stepped out for the toss.

The match went well, but fans were still noticing the sudden unavailability of Hardik Pandya. It was later confirmed that he was suffering with a back spasm, which ruled him out of the clash against Lucknow Super Giants. It was expected that Hardik would be making his return to the team in time for the clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Unfortunately, that won't be happening either. According to the reports, he has not travelled with Mumbai Indians to Raipur, and has decided to stay. It also says that Pandya will be visiting the BCCI Centre of Excellence, to ensure that he gets time to recover before he makes it back to the field.

Our Take

Hardik Pandya being unavailable for the next game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be a huge challenge for the team. Mumbai Indians will again have Suryakumar Yadav as the skipper, as the team enters the next game with one of their finest all-rounders being absent. While Suryakumar Yadav has managed to lead the team well in the previous game, it remains to be seen whether he would be able to continue the same form against Royal Challengers Bengaluru or not.
