Injured Kashyap could be out of action for two months
Commonwealth Games champion Parupalli Kashyap could be out of action for the next two months after suffering a torn calf muscle during an inspired fightback against England’s Rajiv Ouseph in the second round of the French Open Superseries on Thursday.
“I injured myself during the third game of the round of 16. Initial diagnosis by the physio suggests a torn calf muscle. However, I will need to wait for a detailed scan once I’m back home,” World No. 10 Kashyap wrote on his Facebook page.
“I might be out of the game for the next two months. It's going to be extremely difficult to stay out of the game. Will need to use this time productively to help further improve my game,” he added.
The injury forced eighth seed Kashyap to concede the match in the decider at 2-4 after the Indian lost the opening game but came back strongly to win the next.
