With the twin games against Laos in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers just ahead, midfielder Pronay Halder has been ruled out with an injury. The Mohun Bagan star joins the long line to the infirmary behind ex-East Bengal captain Harmanjot Singh Khabra, David Lalrinmuia and many others.

Pronay Halder had picked up an ankle injury in Mohun Bagan's Federation Cup final against Aizawl FC last week. The midfielder returned to Kolkata on Friday evening after the doctors advised him to rest for the next 10 days, reported goal.com.

The Indian team is scheduled to play Laos in twin encounters with the away and home games scheduled for 2nd and 7th of June respectively. The team has been training under coach Stephen Constantine at the camp in Guwahati, but the spate of injuries has dampened the preparations.

Earlier, midfielder Harmanjot Singh Khabra, who plays for Chennaiyin FC and East Bengal, was also ruled out of the tournament. Bengaluru FC striker C.K. Vineeth, who was named in the preliminary list, had not joined the camp owing to a shoulder injury.

During the camp at Guwahati, Aizawl skipper David Lalrinmuana also picked up an injury and had to leave, while Salgaocar defender Augustin Fernandes suffered a similar fate three days ago, reported goal.com.
