Reports | Serge Aurier considering his Tottenham future amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain
Tottenham star Serge Aurier has told the club that he wants to leave this summer, amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan. The Frenchman struggled to make an impact last season, with just 8 league appearances, with injuries playing a role and that has seen him consider his future.
By letting Kieran Trippier go, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino ensured that the club would have to depend on both Kyle Walker-Peters and Juan Foyth. Those were supposed to be their only two options at right-back, with Spurs reportedly transfer listing Serge Aurier. But Foyth’s pre-season injury changed everything for the club, with Aurier now in contention for the first-team spot.
However, what has changed between those final two incidents is Aurier’s interest to stay at the club, with the Daily Mail reporting that it’s no longer there. The English newspaper adds that with the Frenchman’s former side Paris Saint-Germain keen on a move, the 26-year-old is considering his options.
The Sun has also added that AC Milan have shortlisted the Frenchman as a potential option, with the San Siro side looking for a new right-back. This could prove problematic for Spurs, especially with the Premier League’s transfer window closed, and it doesn’t give them a chance to bring in a replacement.
It would also leave the inexperienced Walker-Peters as the club's first-choice option until Juan Foyth, is fully fit but even the Argentine is a center back converted into a right-back, a position he has only recently starting playing in.
