Reports | Philippe Coutinho destined to leave Barcelona this summer
Barcelona superstar Philippe Coutinho is set to leave the Camp Nou this summer, whether or not a deal for Neymar is completed. The 27 year old has struggled immensely since his move from Liverpool and it has seen Barcelona open to a move for the Brazilian, with them keen on trimming their wage bill.
Barcelona have sent over delegations to France to try and get a deal for Neymar done, with reports indicating that their first official offer includes €100 million-plus Philippe Coutinho. However, whether or not PSG accept that bid, it seems that it marks the end of Coutinho’s career at the Camp Nou with the Brazilian set to leave this summer.
Goal has reported that Bayern Munich and PSG are interested in making a move for the former Liverpool man, with the Bundesliga giants already tabling a loan deal with an option to buy. This was confirmed by a spokesman from the club in a recent exclusive by Goal.com, but he also added that there is no agreement in place between the two sides.
Things have gotten so bad, that with no other suitors in the race, reports have added that Barcelona are willing to forego any loan fee, in order to offload the 27-year-old this summer. The former Liverpool star is one of the La Liga Champions’ highest earners and with Antoine Griezmann’s arrival, the club are trying to trim their wage bill.
The former Atletico Madrid striker’s arrival does change things for Coutinho and Barcelona no longer see him as a bonafide starter, which has simply amped up the transfer rumours.
