Everton have been offered the chance to sign Bayern Munich legend Franck Ribery, with the Frenchman now a free-agent. This allows the Toffees to make the move, even though the British transfer window is officially closed, with the 36-year-old released by the Bundesliga giants this summer.

Everton have been offered the chance to sign Bayern Munich legend Franck Ribery as per reports in the Daily Star and the Sun. The Frenchman and the Bundesliga giants parted ways at the end of last season, with Arjen Robben also leaving Munich. However, while Robben has since retired thanks to a myriad of injury issues, Ribery is now a free agent and is weighing up his next move.

That move could be England, with the Daily Star and the Sun reporting that Everton have been offered a chance to sign Ribery with the serial winner open to joining Goodison Park. The Daily Star has further added, that owner Farhad Moshiri and Sporting director Marcel Brands are still weighing up the idea of a short term deal, with several issues playing a part.

Ribery's age is the first concern but their biggest issue is the fact that Ribery would have to take a pay cut if he were to join Everton, with him earning €160,000 a week at Bayern before he left. That would upset the current pay structure and hierarchy at Goodison Park, as that deal is much higher than Everton’s highest earner.

Another issue is the fact that the former Marseille star does have options, with offers from the MLS, Serie A and even the Chinese Super League, which means that any move will have to be made fast.
