Reports | Manchester United told to pay £90 million for Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Manchester United have suffered a big setback in their pursuit of Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with the Red Devils being told to pay £90 million for the midfielder. The club has just four central midfielders and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is very keen on adding a one more to his squad.
Manchester United have been told to pay £90 million for Serie A star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with the Mirror reporting as such. The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move last summer but nothing ever materialized and now with Lazio have been asking too much from Manchester United. That has now changed with Paul Pogba’s future up in the air, with the Frenchman looking for a move away.
The club’s most creative player last season, the 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid by the Metro, with the Los Blancos willing to sell James Rodriguez to fund the move. Yet while no move has materialized, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to add a few midfielders to his squad.
The Red Devils lost Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini over the course of the last six months, leaving them with just four midfielders. It’s why they’ve been linked with moves for John McGinn, Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff, but Milinkovic-Savic is amongst their top targets.
Talks between Lazio and Manchester United are ongoing, with the Red Devils opening with a £72 million offer, before the Serie A side returned with a £90 million valuation. Juventus have also been linked with the Serbian international but the Old Lady have not been able to come to an agreement with Lazio.
