Manchester United are back in the race for Barcelona star Samuel Umtiti, as the Red Devils look to move on from Harry Maguire. They’ve been heavily linked with a move for Maguire, but with Barcelona open to selling Umtiti, a move is more than possible and at a fee much lower than £90 million.

Manchester United are back in the race for Samuel Umtiti reports French news outlet Le 10 Sport, with the Red Devils looking for other options. They’ve been chasing after Leicester City man Harry Maguire but with no luck despite submitting two bids. However, both the bids have been well below Leicester City’s valuation of £90 million, with the Foxes looking to break the world record.

This has seen Umtiti emerge as a serious alternative with a deal possible for potentially less than £50 million this summer. Barcelona do want £55 million for the Frenchman’s signature but they are willing to negotiate a lower sum, Le 10 Sport reports. However, any deal will have to happen as soon as possible with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer small problem now been made even bigger thanks to Eric Baily’s injury.

The Ivory Coast international has undergone knee surgery and has been ruled out for at least five months, effectively missing the start of the season. This has seen a step up in Manchester United’s move for Maguire, but the Foxes continue stonewalling them despite Harry Maguire’s reported frustration.
